-Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen
Hopefully someday soon we'll see an official end to the longstanding "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy within the military. It seems like a no-brainer now that both the SecDef and the Chair of the Joint Chiefs are in agreement that it should end. I don't think anyone could say it any better or any more clearly with Admiral Mullen.
Rachel Maddow interviewed an air force pilot last night who was outed by a disgruntled former partner and is now facing separation from the military under DADT. He was the epitome of who I want defending this country. Spotless record, top notch pilot, well spoken, distinguished. Who he chooses to date is irrelevant!
It is still unbelievable to me that in this country we still so easily accept discrimination against a segment of our citizens based on nothing but who they choose to love. It is just repugnant and frankly, embarrassing.
Listen to him speak and then tell me do you give a rat's behind that he happens to be gay?!?!
