I am home now from my procedure this morning, have to stay off my feet for at least 24 hours and they recommend I not work until Friday. The procedure went smoothly. Baby tolerated it very well. Fluid looks like what they hoped it would which is indicative of a lymphatic drainage issue which is treatable. They are testing it to be sure that is what it is. It is the best case scenario we can hope for at this point.
The Baby's lung inflated right away and the doc was happy to see that. He seemed very positive. If it is this is it likely I will have to go in repeatedly (every week or two) for the same procedure to keep the fluid out as much as possible if it reaccumulates.
We feel very positive at the moment. On the upswing. Its still a rare, complicated and dangerous thing and we know that, but knowing that all the terrible things it could be are being ruled out and this is a treatable possibility is very encouraging.
Also the full amnio panel came back totally normal. So that is reassuring as well.
Next on tap ... Wednesday of next week we go back to Dr. G to see how the lung is doing with another sonogram & I go to Dr. J-C for my routine 5 month check-up. Yep, I am 5 months along now.
