Baby Check-up

Post-Thoracocentesis check looked pretty good. We have two inflated lungs, which is a huge relief. There is a little fluid that seems to be re-accumulating on the left lung but much less than was there. Never have we gone for a sonogram and seen most of the left lung inflated so it was a very welcome sight! They also re-checked him for anemia and tested for a very rare but sometimes related syndrome (Noonan's) - ALL turns out to be negative. Everything is pointing toward he just doesn't quite have the hang of clearing this lymph fluid yet. But signs look hopeful that he is learning how to do so. its entirely possible they will never know exactly why this is happening.

Baby boy is now 1 lb, 14 oz.

The other thing they did today was a steroid injection to stimulate lung development. Just another helping hand if the baby does come early. Apparently it improves their odds at least 50%. I did one shot today and will do one more tomorrow.

Next on the schedule for me is a follow-up next Thursday, Nov 2 to check the fluid and they have preemptively scheduled me for a 3rd thoracocentesis on Friday, November 3rd IF they need it. I am hopeful they won't!
