Casa Luna by far the most bang for the proverbial buck. And has the huge plus of being on the Coral Bay side of the Island. I have discovered we spend most of our time: 1) on the North Shore beaches, 2) in Coral Bay eating, and 3 ) Lounging at the house in the pool. This house delivers on all 3 points. It is not the most luxurious but it also is VERY reasonably priced, coming in at $1500-$2000 less than the other contenders when all is said and done. Mystic Ridge Also boasts a tempting North Shore location, 5 minutes from the beaches. Gorgeous house with great space for spreading out and lounging!
Villa Rendezvous Not my favorite location wise, but the bedrooms are beautiful and there is an actual lawn, a rarity in St. John.
Mostly I want something large enough to handle our crew - looking like 6 adults, maybe 1 or 2 teens and my 2 kids... This means a lot of living space, inside and out, a big pool, and decent bedrooms for all.
