Maybe, maybe I have caught up on my sleep and gotten reacclimated to a NORMAL altitude. Altitude can be a bitch. For me it made my appetite go away and my mind as well. By about 1 pm (especially noticable the first 3 days) I would get downright giddy. Lack of oxygen to the brain makes me a silly girl. If I lived in Denver I might be thinner but I'd surely be pretty flighty.
Denver was great. The meeting went so smoothly. A few minor glitches but nothing that couldn't be fixed.
I returned late Thursday night. 1/2 of my flowers had died in my absence, but both kids were still alive. Go Daddy! Hung actually did an excellent job tending to the children and no one even seemed to miss me. Except maybe Ella who every day on the phone said "Mama, I misssss you soooooooo much!" right before saying, "Talk to Daddy I have to go __________(Insert thing more fun than talking to mama here)." Oh and I think Max missed me too but not enough to get too upset about it. Hung said he just wandered around the house saying "MahhhhMa" looking for me, but not really distressed that he couldn't find me. When I finally saw him upon my return he just kind of looked at me as if to say, "You look familiar. Wait...I almost have it!" and then saying "maaaaahhhhhma!"
Ella and I had a date with Dunkin Donuts on Friday morning before I dropped her off at camp. I had Friday off to recover and recover I did. I went shopping, to lunch and then to the pool where I promptly fell asleep for 3 hours. Friday night we had a date night - made the mistake of going to see the "new" Indiana Jones movie. BIG mistake. HORRIBLE doesn't begin to cover it. Saturday we were up early and headed into DC with the kids for a bike ride along the canal and a picnic lunch. I biked for over 6 miles and I didn't complain once. The trail was very flat!
I can't even remember Saturday afternoon and evening. I think it involved watching the olympics. Sunday we headed to the pool again and then returned home to take naps (except Ella)! Dinner at the Palm - a little late birthday celebration - with friends and then home to bed!
Now I just have to get through the next 9 days and I can go to St. John. My mind is already on vacay!
