Sunburn, bugbites, and a weekend at gramma's

It is amazing to me that we have returned, tired...sunburned (me & hubby)....covered with bites (the girl - despite our best efforts at bugspray)....stuffy with allergies (me) and yet we feel like we had the most wonderful weekend.

We took the girl to gram's cottage on the creek for a weekend of relaxation and fishing. Her dad insisted she have a fishing pole for her birthday and we decided it was time to break it in. We could not have asked for better weather. High 70s, breezy. On her first excursion she hooks a Ray. I didn't believe them at first until a couple of innocent bystanders confirmed.

I am too tired to write much more. But I just had to post a picture!

Oh... did you release the Ray???

I'm glad she had a good time! She was SO excited about that fishing pole!!!

We have a fishing lake in Patterson Park... you should come give it a try!

We never quite were able to get the ray all the way in. My boss (avid fisherman that he is) says he always cuts his line when he catches one because they can wreck your equipment. He also says they are the "poor man's scallops" but I couldn't eat that...sorry!

We may take you up sometime on the fishing hole of yours ... in the city no less :)
