Is it really Sunday Already?

I can't believe its already Sunday. Afternoon, to be exact. Where do the weekends go? Yesterday was spent on a bit of a shopping spree. I was given a bonus at work for getting our membership over 18000 for the first time since the late 90's. So, I was determined to update my wardrobe a bit for the spring. It was actually a lot of fun. I am usually a buy this piece and that piece, ON SALE, kind of girl. Buying entire outfits was a bit of a departure for me.

So that shot most of Saturday. Last night we tried Ray's The Steaks in Arlington for the first time. Us and another couple. YUMMMMMY. Really the best cut of meat I've ever had in a restaurant. Very basic menu. Steaks, a few sides, a few appetizers. Hubby got the blackened scallops which were the best scallops I've ever tasted in my life. Blackened, prepared perfectly, with a little bit of sauteed garlic on top. I wanted to lick his plate. I started with a buffalo mozzerella salad with mixed greens, basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Everything was very simply prepared, but fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is a total dive, no decor to speak of, dozens of people waiting to be seated at any given time. No reservations. Totally worth the wait. We arrived at about 6:40 and were seated by 7:05. Our timing was pretty good because the wait soon went to about 1 hour.

The meal was done and we headed back to our place to hang out on the deck having a few more cocktails. More Cosmos! Yum. I am not sure if my hubby has the proper recipe but his taste like sweettarts. I could drink them all night like they were coolaide.

Of course, the Easter bunny had to come last night. Which involved negotiating easter basket stuffing and egg hiding on 3 huge glasses of wine and a couple of cosmos. Miraculously all were discovered today! The girl was so excited that the easter bunny brought her eggs with "chocolate chips" in them. Chocolate Chips = hershey kisses :)

So now I am going to prep a few appetizers and head over to a friends for a nice Easter lunch.

Happy Easter!!

1 WEEK until Mexico!!!
